You will not be doing this alone
When you volunteer with us, you’ll receive the tools and support you need to serve with confidence. Our staff will walk alongside you as you get settled into your role, answer questions, and celebrate the progress you help create.
Volunteer shifts are flexible and can be scheduled around work, school, or family commitments. Whether you serve weekly or monthly, your presence makes a difference.

How to get started

Complete a volunteer application
Fill out the short form below. It helps us match your interests and availability with the right opportunity. Some roles require a background check.

Attend orientation
After we receive your application, our staff will contact you to schedule a brief orientation. You’ll learn about our mission and the volunteer roles available.

Begin serving
Once orientation and any required checks are complete, you’ll be ready to start serving. Our team will guide you and provide ongoing support.

About background checks
Room At The Inn receives government grants and works with families protected by federal privacy law. Any role with direct access to mothers, children, or student records requires a completed background check.
When you select one of these roles on the application form, a link will appear to download the background check form. Please return the completed form to us at the Volunteer Center.
